End of section #377

Until the Supreme Court read down IPC Section 377, India was one of 72 countries that treated same-sex relationships as a crime. It is now set to join 124 countries where such relationships are legal. The five judge constitution of Supreme court on 6th September unanimously decriminalised part of the 158-year-old colonial era provisions of Section 377 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) which criminalises consensual unnatural sex according to an Indian media report.
