Indranil Aditya is an independent visual journalist based in Mumbai, India, specializing in breaking news, politics, economics, health, and development. His work combines immediacy with depth, producing compelling visual narratives that resonate across global audiences.
His photography and video journalism have been published by leading organizations including AFP TV, Reuters, Bloomberg, Financial Times, IMF, NPR, The Guardian, The New York Times, TIME Magazine, CNN, BBC News, The Economist, and Al Jazeera, among others. He has collaborated with institutions such as the Gates Foundation, Observer Research Foundation, Geological Survey of India, and produced commissioned content for Asian Paints, Dabur India, and the German Consulate in Mumbai.
Indranil’s assignments span from documenting political rallies and economic reportage to covering climate crises, cultural festivals, and international events such as the Bahrain International Airshow. His editorial voice was shaped at the Udaan School of Photography, mentored by World Press Photo winner Arko Datta, grounding his practice in journalistic integrity and wire‑style discipline.
Recognized internationally, his work has been finalist at the Sony World Photography Awards, exhibited at the Indian Photo Festival, and screened at Head On Photo Festival (Australia) and Odessa Batumi Photodays (Georgia). He is a full‑time member of Diversify Photo and the Mumbai Press Club, representing BIPOC and non‑Western visual storytellers.
